GPSD Named National Beta District of Distinction

GREENVILLE, MS – – National Beta is proud to announce the Greenville Public School District as a 2020-2021 National District of Distinction. This award is given to those deserving districts who offer National Beta in all schools in their district, and who induct qualifying students in all eligible grades (4‐12). GPSD is one of only 24 districts to receive this award nationwide.

Through the exceptional efforts of Superintendent Dr. Debra Dace, club sponsors and deserving Beta members, GPSD has flourished since the district’s initial Beta charter. This national award speaks highly of GPSD’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership development and service involvement, and illustrates their dedication to preparing students for college, and career readiness. The students in their district understand the importance of these qualities and exemplify the Beta motto, Let Us Lead by Serving Others.

Attached you will find a copy of the Greenville Public School District's Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. The purpose of this plan is to provide guidance along with essential steps on the development of in-person instruction and  services. 

Summer “STING”: Successful Things in GPSD

Greenville Public School District is excited to offer fun filled learning opportunities for students in PK to 12th grade. GPSD will offer experiences that will keep students engaged in enriching activities in reading, writing, thinking creatively as well as offer credit recovery for those who need it. All programs are FREE! Breakfast and Lunch will be served each day and transportation is available.

Summer Reading

The William Alexander Percy Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program is a fun and exciting way to accomplish school summer reading requirements.  Prizes are earned for books read and a drawing for one of two bicycles will be held for all students who complete the library reading requirements. Each student who earns a Certificate of Completion will be awarded extra points by his or her teacher in the fall. Sign up for the program begins June 1, 2021 at the William Alexander Percy Memorial Library.  Call the library at 662-335-2331 for details.

Board Approves District Calendar for  2021-2022 School Year 

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Greenville Public School District was held 03/23/2021, beginning at 05:00 PM at the Manning Curriculum Complex. The 2021-2022 school year calendar was discussed and approved by the Board.
