Lizzie Coleman Middle School has a strong legacy as a school in the heart of the Mississippi Delta located in Washington County in the city of Greenville.  The history of this facility goes back to 1922.  It served as a high school for African American students until 1970.  After many years it transitioned into a Junior High School and within the last decade it has been converted into a Middle School, which serves grades 6-8.  The community consists of families that have roots here stretching back generations.  


Hours of Operation

**Teachers are available for conferences ONLY during their planning period (see below) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays**

  • Student arrival: Gate opens AT 7:40 a.m.
  • Meetings w/ Administration: 8:30 a.m.
  • Opening Bell/Report to 1st Period 8:05 a.m.
  • 1st Period (8:20- 9:10)

    • Planning: Electives – (Calderon, Harris, R. Brown, B. Johnson)

  • 2nd Period (9:15 – 10:05)

    • Planning:(all teachers have classes during this period) - none planning

  • 3rd Period (10:10 – 11:00)

    • Planning:  6th Grade (Rainwater, Phillips & S. Brown)

  • 4th Period ( 11:05 - 12:00)

    • Planning:: 8th Grade – (Toole, Kavanagh, Chambers & T. Williams)

  • 5th Period (12:30 - 1:20)

    • Planning:  Electives  – (Hall, Kibbee, Higgins & V. Smith)
