Greetings, Hornet Family:
I am a proud graduate of the Greenville Public School District as a member of the Greenville High School Class of 1982. I am even more proud to be an assistant principal at the school from which I graduated. To walk the halls of my cherished alma mater and to support teaching and learning here is a lifelong goal!
My philosophy of education is that all students can learn. I believe that students should be encouraged to be lifelong learners. Learning is not solely the endeavor of the school, but of the entire community. Students learn content in the school but must have opportunities to apply what they learn throughout their lives. In order to magnify the learning opportunity for students, it is important to involve parents and the community in the support of learning. Only by the active involvement of all stakeholders in a learning community, which extends beyond the school, can students reach their highest potential.
Learning at Greenville High School encompasses all our stakeholders in a unified and concerted effort to provide a safe, environment that maintains a focus on student achievement. Our school culture represents one that supports learning for all members of the school community and celebrates a commitment to life-long learning. We share a commitment to high standards and high expectations that supports learning for ALL students. Our school community nurtures and supports the talents, aptitudes, and interests of their students. Our school goals are transparent to all stakeholders and support the school in providing activities, both academic and extracurricular, that enhance the experience of our students to encourage their active engagement in learning. It is my vision as an effective leader for learning to develop, promote, and maintain a culture of learners where students, teachers, parents, and the community are all a part of the learning process.
