GREENVILLE-- The Greenville Public School District has a full slate of Open House/Meet & Greet events set to kickoff the first 30 days of the new school year. The district's administration, faculty, and staff have been hard at work preparing for a successful and productive 2017-18 school year set to begin on Monday, August 7.
The purpose of these gatherings is to promote and enhance parental/family engagement along with support in our schools. Not to mention, research has shown that the most successful schools have a high percentage of parental involvement. In addition, the events also serve as a standing ritual to invite and introduce parents along with their children to the beginning of the new school term.
Traditionally, students get to tour the campus, parents can meet and speak with their child's teacher and the school administration/principal. The child get and opporunity to get familiar with the classroom, and learn about goals for new school year. Below you will find the various gatherings as follows:
Akin- Friday, August 4; from 4-6 p.m.
Armstrong- Saturday, August 5; from 12-3 p.m.
Boyd- Friday, August 4; from 3-5 p.m.
Coleman- Sunday, August 13; @5:30 p.m.
Greenville High School- Sunday, August 6; from 4-6 p.m.
GTC- Thursday, September 7; @ 5:30 p.m.
McBride- Saturday, August 5; 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Stern- Friday, August 4; from 3-5:30 p.m.
Trigg- Saturday, August 5; from 10a.m.-1 p.m.
Webb- Saturday, August 5; from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Weddington- Friday, August 4; from 3-5 p.m.
Weston- Tuesday, August 8; @5:30 p.m.
